Day 1 • Marrakech – Ounila Valley – Kasba Ait Ben Haddou – Ourzazate
After breakfast you will meet your expert tour guide/driver who will accompany you on this beautiful adventure. We will sort out all of your luggage in the 4×4 jeep and head out to the desert of Morocco. We will cross the High Atlas through the port of TiziN´Tichka at an altitude of 7415 feet. After a walk through the Kasbah of Télouet, we will have a typical lunch from the area. From here our expedition follows the old trade route of the caravans from black Africa through the Ounila Valley until reaching the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This is quite possibly the most picturesque image of Morocco. This wonderful place is ideal for an amazing photo session. We will then have arrived in Ouarzazate, “The door of the desert” where we will settle into our accommodation and have dinner.
Day 2 • Ouarzazate – Agdez – Draa Valley – Mharech Oasis (Dakar track)
After breakfast we depart to enjoy the second stage of the private tour to the Mharech Oasis – track of the Rally – Dakar . In Ouarzazate we will visit the Kasbah de Taourirt, an old harem-palace. Crossing the mountains of the Anti-Atlas through the port of Tizi N´Tinfnit at an altitude of 5447 feet, we reach the Draa Valley. During this passage through the town of Tamnougal we will visit the Kasbah of Alkaid Ali, another mystical, beautiful place . We will continue our route, making small stops along the way of Berber towns and villages such as N’kob, Tarazine and Alnif until we reach the Rally – Dakar track. We are going to make our way through the 56 miles track that crosses lost villages in the desert until reaching the Mharech Oasis. This will conclude the second day of the tour in the desert of Morocco. We will settle into our accommodation and have dinner.
Day 3 • Mharech – Ramlia Oasis – Ouzina – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Desert
Today will be one of the most intense days of our tour. We will leave Foum Mharech through the track of the Rally – Dakar. We will pass through several lost villages in the desert, the oasis and the dunes until reaching the village of Khamlia. The descendants of slaves who came from Africa live in this very town. We are going to enjoy its amazing folk music to the beat of the drums. From Khamlia we will go to the Erg Chebbi desert, known as having the highest dunes in all of Morocco. As soon as we arrive we will take dromedaries and our expert tour guide will take us to see the most impressive spectacle in the desert: the sunset from the largest dunes in Morocco. After this unforgettable experience we will return to our place of accommodation and have dinner. You have the option to choose between staying in a hotel – kasbah (a unique hotel in the traditional adobe style) or jaimas (a traditional Berber tent) under the starry night sky with all of it’s comforts.
Day 4 • Merzourga – Rissani – Gorges of Todra – Dades Valley
After enjoying the spectacular sunrise in the desert, we will return by dromedary to the hostel to have breakfast before starting our fourth day with the destination to the wonderful Dades Valley. We will pass through the town of Rissani, the origin of the Alauí dynasty and the first imperial city of Morocco. Then we will pass through Erfoud (the city of Fossils) until finally reaching the Palm Grove of Tafilalet. Before reaching the Dades Valley we will stop to admire the Gorges of Todra and immortalize this moment with a photo session. Day four ends in Dades Valley where we will settle into our accommodation and have dinner.
Day 5 • Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Skoura – Marrakech
This day will be the fifth and final day of our expedition in the desert of Morocco. After leaving the Dades Valley we are going to cross the route of the “Thousand Kasbahs”. We will pass through the amazing Valley of Roses and the Palm Grove of Skoura. From this point on we will start to make our way back to Marrakech through the High Atlas. In the afternoon we will arrive in Marrakech and end the Rally-Dakar expedition.
